Foster & Son
Foster & Son are London’s oldest bespoke shoe and boot makers, tracing their origins back to 1840. Their team of highly skilled craftspeople use traditional techniques, many of which have remained unchanged for centuries, to hand-make the finest shoes in small numbers. With the launch of their ready-to-wear range and modern factory opening in Northampton,
G–A were asked to breathe new life into the brand, talking to new audiences without alienating their exiting client base.
What we did
Balancing the brief of modernising the brand whilst retaining a sense of heritage and craftsmanship, the G-A design team started with the brand’s visual identity. We fine-tuned the logo, expanded the colour palate and modernised the typography, employing these refreshed assets across a newly G-A built website and social media channels.
Physical content is still very important for Foster & Son, to target new audiences and speak with existing ones. To support the launch of the new website, we delivered a variety of printed materials featuring a 2019 look book, promotional leaflets, newsletters and ad hoc material to support their marketing strategy and trade show presence worldwide.
Through the lens
G–A photographed the new ready-to-wear and bespoke ranges along with all leather goods and accessories. Creating an extensive library of images that showcase Foster & Son's craftspeople and products, the brand now has a bank of content to demonstrate their craft skills and working processes.
With a fully functioning website, digital and photographic assets and refreshed printed material, Foster & Son are armed with the tools to take their luxury heritage brand to new audiences across the world.
