The Brief:After the success of the Start-London eCommerce project, Philip Start asked us to create a dedicated website for his men’s clothing brand, Mr Start. Specialising in both off the peg and made to measure tailoring, the Mr Start brand is the epitome of Shoreditch chic and the fit is described as subtle yet certain, creating an everyday elegance.
Project Notes:The brand was officially launched seasonally for wholesale at London Fashion Week in February 2011. Now, Mr Start occupies it’s own store on Rivington Street, Shoreditch, and has a representation in Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols amongst others in the UK and world wide. The new website had to appeal not only to shop customers but also potential wholesale clients in the UK and abroad.
The Result:Drawing on influences ranging from the Chapman brothers to the latest Tarantino movie, the Mr Start interactive blog website is more than just a presentation of products and lookbooks. Art, architecture and film have all influenced the designs and the treatment of the photography in the blog section would make Alexander Calder proud. The design style is a statement of intent where the Mr Start lifestyle is the definition of Shoreditch luxury.
